Multiply the Word

Dear Prayer Partners

“In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land”—Psalm 95:4-5.

As we recently walked along miles of golden, sandy beach, we couldn’t help being amazed at the beauty of creation and the greatness of the One who formed it all. The one who knew exactly how many grains of sand there were on that beach, who placed each shell in its place and who formed each crashing wave—how great our God is!

At the Sea

Family life

A few weeks ago we had a week off and were able to go away as a family to the beach. After being in the city for lockdown it was so nice to be where the boys could run around and explore. They loved playing in the sea, building sandcastles, and seeing the bunnies that came out first thing in the morning. It was a good rest for all of us!

Becky has started taking the boys to a small football (soccer) group with a neighbor and her children twice a week. The kids love it and Becky has been able to form a friendship. Please pray for N and her family, as God provides opportunities to share Christ.

During the recent warm weather, many of the families on our road come out in the evening to play outside. It’s been a great opportunity for the boys to make new friends, some of whom will be in their classes next year, and for us to get to know their parents. There are families from all different countries and backgrounds: India, Pakistan, Poland, South Africa, Turkey and South Korea.
Donald has started a Bible study with one of our neighbors and hopes another friend will also join them. He has also had opportunities to study the Bible with O, a Muslim guy. Please pray that we would be able to form some good friendships with our neighbors, that our conversations would lead to opening the Bible with them, and that our lives would reflect God.

Best Brothers

Church

At church, we have continued with online services on Sunday and during the week. We are looking at how we may safely reopen in the coming months in line with the government’s guidelines. Please pray for wisdom as decisions are made.

New Church Plant
In March, just before lockdown began, we were asked to help with “Grace Church New Malden” a new church plant that is starting near where we live. They were hoping to launch officially at Easter but unfortunately it didn’t go quite to plan! They are continuing with online services twice a month on Sunday afternoons that we are now involved in. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we can start helping in person. We are excited to get experience of church planting in London…. a far cry from the rural towns of Mexico… but both with the same mission: reach people with the gospel.

Grace Church New Malden

Mexico

Normally during this week each year, our missionary team in Mexico runs a mission training week called “Luke 10 in Action.” However, due to the pandemic, it was not able to proceed as normal. We have taken the opportunity to run an online Missions Congress, which has allowed us to participate from afar. Please pray that many people would take advantage of being able to connect from their own homes and be impacted by what they hear.

We continue with our plans for returning to Mexico, God-willing next summer. Donald continues to meet weekly via Zoom with the other team leaders to talk through some of the plans we have for our return. We expect to share more of these plans with you soon in upcoming emails. Please pray for the plans and also for our support raising, as we seek to be fully funded before heading back to the field.

As we write, one of our mission partners J.C and his family are suffering from the Covid-19. J.c’s wife L has lost her sense of smell and taste. on top of the family having high temperatures, headaches, and other symptoms. Please pray. as cases seem to be rising in Mexico.

Thank you for your gospel partnership, as we endeavor to multiply the proclamation of God’s word among the unreached.

Praises:
  1. We thank God we were able to take some time to rest and recharge
Please pray:
  1. Pray for J.C and his family as they recover from the Coronavirus
  2. For our efforts with Grace Church, that we will serve faithfully.
  3. For our future plans to return to Mexico.
Serving Together,
Donald, Becky, Ben and Elliot
